FRIDAY DEC 16THHELLEFANTE PRESENTS
THE SIN CITY TOUR WITH UK DUBSTEP PIONEERS HATCHA & N-TYPE with MC CRAZY D HATCHA (UK) Pioneering Dubstep DJ who has gone on to remix #1 UK chart topping artists and singles, as well as mix the internationally charting “100% Pure Dubstep” compilation series. NAMED AS ONE OF MIXMAG’S GREATEST DJs OF ALL TIME Hatcha’s roots seep deep back into late ‘90s UK garage, Croydon and pirate radio. Originally the buyer at the now defunct Big Apple record shop, Hatcha was one of the very first DJs to pick up on the new dark strains of 2step that were being made by local producers like El-B, Artwork and Horsepower at the turn of the millennium. As the producers came into the shop to sell white labels of these niche new sounds, a community arose. The shop began its own label, Big Apple Records and its first release was the dubstep classic “Red” by the shop’s resident producer Artwork. The next releases came from his two protégés, Benga and Skream. facebook.com/hatchadj N-TYPE (UK) N-Type is a dubstep DJ / producer / label owner who reigns from the deep south UK ( Surrey in-fact ). He has been knocking about on the underground scene for many years. He began mixing drum and bass in the late 90’s at the age 14. PUBLIC WORKS
“Givin’ the People what they Want”
Public works is a multifaceted event and community space in San Francisco’s Mission District that consists of a performance/event space, bar, art gallery and artist work shop/community room.
During the day artists conceive and produce work that will come to light as the sun goes down and the electronic and indie music scenes bubble up to fill this new home for the SF Underground.
From DJ oriented Club Parties and live bands to independent film screenings, performance art and random creative Outbursts, Public Works is a Hangout, a Happening, an Adventure.
The art gallery provides a space where the work of local SF based artists can mingle with both the up and coming art star and the budding savant, encouraged to show by one of the Cities creatively oriented non profits.
With studio space at a premium here in San Francisco four artist residents will be afforded, at no cost, a daytime work shop that come evening transforms into a community room available free of charge to neighborhood groups and other benevolent organizations.
We encourage the growth of art and creativity in the Mission and San Francisco as a whole and are intent to provide a forum and a physical space for both.
As part of our commitment to the Neighborhood we will donate a portion of our proceeds to various local non profits in addition to assisting them with promotions and events. Root Division ( http://rootdivision.org/ ), a non profit which brings art classes to kids in schools that can’t afford programs is a current beneficiary.
We’re all about bringing the wide array of San Francisco’s underground scenes and styles together under one roof while promoting and linking with some of the bay areas most inspiring, creatively oriented non profits

ACTRESS
(Werk Discs)
Darren Cunningham, better known as Actress, the mind behind Werk Discs label, home to the likes of Lone, Zomby, Starkey and Lukid, is definitely one of the most significant UK’s music figures, who manages to stay away from the social spotlight, while continually achieving outstanding musical results.
His latest album “Splazsh” has become one of the most anticipated and most talked about in the past few months. And as Resident Advisor’s Todd Burns notes: “I just got tired after a while, thinking up more words to put in the “genre” box for Actress’ Splazsh. Dubstep. House. Techno. Experimental. And, really, what’s the point?”
Dazed&Confused magazine describes him as “an artist so underground that even his own friends doubt his existence.” A mystery indeed, Actress’s sets are “variable depending on the night and mood,” some describe his performances as one of the “most prolific club experiences.” We wonder, how Actress is going to surprise us in San Francisco…

Brought to you by: PARTY LIKE US / DUBSTEP MASSIVE
B. Rich (aka Barrett Richards) of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is one of America’s welcome purveyors of bass-heavy club music. After growing up with a love of hip hop he got into producing and DJ at a young age while being influenced by early 90s rave and dance artists such as Moby, Altern-8 and The Prodigy. Now with over 15 years of experience he is performing regularly throughout North America with one European tour under his belt and a world tour later this year.
With an a strong ability to read a crowd his sets are known to fly all over the map. They can go between house, bassline, funky, garage and dubstep all with a unifying element: huge low end frequencies. When behind the tables he shows the signs of an artist and performer who truly loves their work.
He has become a much sought after remixer for various styles, ranging from big dubstep club bangers to percussive and bass heavy 4/4 dance floor hits. His crisp production style has been shared with labels such as Ultra Records, Ministry of Sound, Scion A/V and Palms Out Sounds. Whether it’s at the club or on BBC Radio 1, you can hear his tracks being played and supported by some of the heaviest selectors and tastemakers across the world.
JUBILEE – Flashing Lights / Nightshifters

…
With podcasts for XLR8R under her belt, a DJ set for New Yorker Festival for their ‘Spotlight on Brooklyn’ segment, Jubilee has spread her sparks across the globe in far away lands such as Bucharest, Berlin, London and Reykvavik. In New York, she has played along side heavy hitters like Drop The Lime, The Juan Maclean, Simian Mobile Disco, Digitalism, Jokers of the Scene and Green Velvet. And as the lady who exported Rave Juice to New York’s underground party scene, validating Discobelle to dub her as ‘the most amazing lady in NYC’. Jubilee continues to throw her sass to the dance music flame; effortlessly expanding her talents, letting no one get in her way.

UDACHI – Party Like Us / Trouble and Bass
with releases including “Jelly Roll” on Trouble and Bass and a remix of Audio Bullys’ “Dope Fiend” alongside the legendary Tommie Sunshine, which DMC Magazine proclaimed “could be the killer remix of 2009.” “Dope Fiend” also made rounds on Kissy Sell Outs radio show on BBC, as well as in the Jack Beats Fabric Live mix, and Udachi’s premiere remix of AC Slater’s “Jack got Jacked” was licensed on the compilation “Relax It Won’t Hurt” mixed by Tommie Sunshine on Ultra Records. In addition to a these releases, Udachi has played a slew of DJ sets with artists such as Mightyfools, Bart B More, Drop The Lime, AC Slater, Tittsworth, B. Rich, Deathface, Paserock, Foamo, and Starkey, just to name a few.
In early 2010, Udachi released the uprock smash single “P-Funk Skank” with remixes by the likes of Nadastrom, B. Rich, Costello, Dave Nada and Ricorb, and his current material includes an EP in the works for Palms Out Sound, a heavy bass remix of Rico Tubb’s “It Gets No Better”, a remix of “We Own The Sky” by M83 (a repeat #1 on Hype Machine’s Daily Most Popular Tracks), and a single alongside Jess Jubilee (“Paypur/Smoke Rings”) for the Nighshifters label, complete with a trippy music video, made in collaboration with No Name Brand Film and QuizBowl productions. The video for “Smoke Rings” is a truly epic production made on a tinfoil budget, and entails Udachi and Jubilee on a quest to recover some weed stolen by sneaky aliens, culminating in a major interplanetary dance party. If you haven’t checked this one out yet – you owe it to yourself to get on YouTube right now and scope it out.

With local support by Dave Betamax from SMUT and BASS
Dave Betamax is a mystery wrapped in an enigma, a man that sits in a dark room beyond an unsolvable maze. Dave has been producing and DJing for 9 years. Spanning many genres from Ambient Experimental to Jungle and everywhere in between, Dave Betamax is a musical artist with a highly conceptual view of his surroundings which he radiates through the speakers. Jumping through genres with ease in all his sets, always staying ahead of the game. Starting his artistic journey from a very early age, Dave would communicate through his music. He continued to create and design as his music career began to rise with the conception of his “Smut + Bass” label. Opening for artists like King Cannibal, 16 Bit, AK1200, Prefuse 73 and headlining his own shows, nothing phases this robot. Dave lives by one golden rule set down by Brian Eno. “For the world to be interesting, you have to be manipulating it all the time” and he does.
